We will actively pursue practices to reduce, reuse, and recycle all materials used in our facility in order to reduce our carbon footprint. We will educate our employees, customers, consumers and other interested parties regarding the Company’s sustainability efforts.
At Winston Packaging we will:
- Observe all laws relating to environmental, health, and safety regulations.

- Design each new project to reduce the raw materials needed. Make customers aware of environmentally friendly paperboard choices such as recyclable raw material choices; recommend the use of raw materials that do not threaten or harm the environment.
- Select raw materials that will minimize VOCs and harmful chemicals.
- Embrace the fundamentals of lean manufacturing practices as they relate to eliminating waste applicable to raw materials and energy.
- Practice recycling in the office area by recycling office paper, aluminum cans, plastic containers, and electronic equipment.
- Practice responsible set up waste management in the manufacturing facility by continuously tracking and improving the amount of total waste generated and by recycling all paperboard waste through a formal program.
- Utilize shipping practices to minimize multiple partial shipments and strive for full truckloads whenever possible. Combine truckload trips to drop off finished goods and pick up raw materials on the same trip whenever possible.
- Segregate and track raw materials through the converting, warehousing, and shipping processes to maintain Chain of Custody standards.
- Monitor and comply with regulations to ensure safe air quality.
- Maintain an Environmental, Health, and Safety Committee responsible for identifying areas of improvement and meeting performance objectives.
- Incorporate sustainability information into company’s written and electronic communication system to inform and educate customers, consumers and interested parties about sustainable packaging.
- Utilize “best practices” in our package design, material sourcing, manufacturing process, and shipping practices.
